Should I wear gold or silver?
Sometimes our preference for gold or silver may not necessarily mean it’s complementing us in the best possible way.
So what looks better on me gold or silver?
That depends on the undertone of your skin. If you have a cold undertone, you will look your best in silver and white gold.
If you have a warm undertone, your best choice will be yellow gold.
If your skin undertone is olive or neutral, you are lucky, you can equally look great in yellow gold, and white gold or silver.
What’s my skin undertone?
To find out you must look at the colour of your veins on the inside of your wrist or elbow. The best is to use a day light as artificial light may change the results.
Colder skin tones have blue veins, purple shades. Celebrity example: Anne Hathaway, Adele, Nicole Kidman, Taylor Swift. Colder skin tones don’t mean pale skin, some dark skin can have cold undertones as well. Celebrity example: Lupita Nyong’o.
If you see more green veins, yellow shades, you are warm toned. Celebrity example: Beyonce, Jennifer Lopez, Kim Kardashian, Eva Longoria.
If your skin appears to have a bit of both, or it is difficult to tell, your skin undertone is most likely to be neutral, celebrity example: Kerry Washington, Emma Watson, Jessica Biel, Jennifer Aniston, Sandra Bullock.
Typically, olive skin is known for either having warm or neutral undertones with a greenish or greyish cast, celebrity example: Rihanna, Jessica Alba.
The lighter your skin, the cooler your undertones are, while darker olive shades have a deeper, more golden undertone.
